Privacy policy

TEMPLATE – adapt to your offer and have it checked legally.

1. Controller

[Name, address, email as in the legal notice]

2. Hosting and server logs

This website runs on its own server [host, location, e.g. “at XY in Germany”]. When you visit, technically necessary data (IP address, time, requested page, browser identifier) is processed briefly to deliver the page and protect it from abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The website sets no tracking cookies, loads no external fonts and uses no analytics services.

3. Orders, chat and payment

For an order or session booking we store the name or nickname and the contact (Discord name or email) you enter, the chosen product and the messages in your order chat. Payments are processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. You enter your payment details only in PayPal's window; we receive the payer's name and email address, the order number, the amount and the payment status – no card or bank data. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). PayPal privacy notice: paypal.com/privacy.

4. License management

For each license we store: license key, plan, purchase and activation time, expiry date, email address and a device identifier. The device identifier is a non-reversible hash (SHA-256) of Windows system properties and is used only to bind the license to one PC. When activating and for regular checks, the app only sends the license key and this identifier. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Retention: for the term of the license and beyond according to statutory retention obligations (usually 10 years for accounting records).

5. Sending emails

If you provide an email address, we may send you the license key by email [via mail provider XY].

6. The Kestrel app

Kestrel works locally on your PC. Measurements, settings and benchmarks stay on your device. Network connections are only made for the license check, update checks and features you start yourself (e.g. network analysis, bufferbloat test via Cloudflare, loading game covers from Steam).

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Contact [email].
